From farm to table
Our ambition is to take "farm to table" to a whole new level. Grindal is a gastronomic center where world-class food products are made. These producers are literally our closest neighbors, but also great collaborators. This is important to us because it allows us to share the rich history and tradition rooted in this land, while also contributing to the employment of the amazing people who live here.
The food served to our guests is meant to represent our valley, and we therefore offer gourmet meals made with local ingredients. The seafood comes from the Trondheim Fjord, the vegetables from the fields in the village, and the cheese is from the cattle grazing in the hillside.
Here are some of our valued partners:
Grønt frå Grindal is a market garden in Rennebu that cultivates a generous variety of vegetables in the fields of Aunan farm. They grow 6 acres of organic berries and vegetables and are so sought after that people travel from afar to visit the passionate farmers behind it, Elisabeth and Sigurd. They grow 40 different types of vegetables and berries, supplying, among others, the top restaurants in Trondheim.

Grindal Ysteri is an award-winning cheesery that uses milk from its own cows and goats in production. The dairy is located just a few hundred meters from the farm, so this is truly local food. The blue cheese "Råblå" won gold at the World Cheese Awards, and their products are highly sought-after delicacies throughout Norway.
Rodebak Farm Brewery supplies us with high-quality craft beer. The microbrewery is located just a few kilometers away, and the passionate brewers behind it have extensive experience and a strong reputation in the beer community. They brew organic beer using local ingredients, such as malt from Skogn. The brewing tradition began with the grandmother on the family farm, and today they produce Belgian-inspired beers that taste absolutely fantastic.
